We offer two facelift surgeries: mini and full facelift. Either can be customized with blepharoplasty (eye lift), laser skin resurfacing and fat transfer procedures.
Facelifts & Mini-Facelifts
Just as each face is beautiful in its own way, each face is unique in how it ages.
For instance, at a certain adult age one person may experience very hollow cheeks, whereas another person may experience sagging jowls. That’s because multiple factors play into the aging process including ethnicity, genes and lifestyle.
During his time in cosmetic medicine, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Chang Soo Kim, MD, has performed several facelifts since the start of his career, perfecting several “facelift” procedures using the latest, most advanced technology available today to meet each person’s individual needs.
These innovative procedures– Liquid Facelift, and Facelift/Weekend or Mini Facelift—all address different aging issues to deliver a natural, refreshed–as opposed to “pulled”–appearance. The results are all equally amazing when it comes to wiping away the years and restoring your most youthful appearance. Plus they are all safe, affordable and carried out under local anesthesia in Dr. Kim’s medical suite at Bellava. All of the face lift procedures are often combined with additional facial aesthetic cosmetic medicine procedures such as blepharoplasty (eyelift).

Facelift Services in Bedford HillFacelift & Weekend or Mini Facelift
After a certain age, some surgery is almost always required to restore a youthful-looking face, especially in the jowl area, which is why Dr. Kim offers both facelifts and mini facelifts. His weekend or mini facelift procedure is not only less invasive than a traditional facelift, but because of the advanced techniques utilized also results in very minimal scarring. This procedure restores the natural contour of the jaw line and tightens sagging, loose skin in the mid and lower face regions, softening deep nasolabial folds at the sides of the nose and mouth and marionette lines that extend from the mouth to chin area.

Frequently asked questions
Am I a good facelift candidate?
The best candidate for a face lift is a man or woman who is in good health and whose facial skin has started to sag but whose skin retains some elasticity. Patients should also have realistic expectations and understand the risks and benefits of the procedure. It is commonly said that a facelift can make someone look 10 years younger.
Are facelift results permanent?
Like all plastic surgery, results differ from person-to-person. Plus, a facelift procedure does not stop the aging process. Still, most people can expect results to last somewhere between five and ten years.
Is there a common technique for facelift procedures?
Dr. Kim is an expert in a variety of facelift techniques including the less invasive “mini facelift” and tailors each procedure to meet patients’ individual needs and desires.
Is a facelift performed under general anesthesia?
Most facelift procedures performed by Dr. Kim can be carried out under local anesthesia.
When can one resume normal activities after a facelift?
It depends on the type of face lift you have had performed. Most people can return to work anywhere between 1-2 weeks after surgery though swelling and bruising may take up to three weeks to disappear. Avoid strenuous activities for at least two weeks and limit sun exposure.
