“Discover Anti-age for the Modern Age”
Want to know why FDA-approved Sculptra® Aesthetic is considered the Rolls Royce of
dermal fillers by many plastic surgeons and injectable doctors? Besides its renowned excellence for sculpting facial features and adding fullness, Sculptra is extremely long?lasting. In fact, results from Sculptra last up to two years or more, compared to most other anti-aging fillers that typically last six to 12 months.
Sculptra is a great treatment choice for patients who have lost facial volume due to the aging process. It is excellent for correcting deep creases or folds such as laugh lines or smile lines, the lines framing your mouth (marionette lines) and chin wrinkle. It is rumored that many celebs, such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston, Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp use Sculptra to maintain their most youthful appearance. Sculptra is comprised of Poly-L-lactic acid, a biocompatible substance (a material that does not harm the body) and has been safely used in the medical community for over 30 years.
How Does It Work?
Sculptra is injected deep into the skin tissue in areas where fat has been lost, or, where one wishes to add a sculpted effect. It works by stimulating the production of collagen beneath the skin. Collagen is the body’s key structural component that keeps the skin plump,
smooth and youthful looking.
Unlike hyaluronic acid-type dermal fillers that are sometimes referred to as “lunchtime treatments,” Sculptra’s results are not as immediate. That’s because actual renewal of collagen takes place gradually. Sculptra results are usually apparent after six weeks of treatment and continue to improve over six months. This slower, more natural progression allows the patient to look better over time, without looking as if something has been “done.” With Sculptra, people will see that you look better than ever but won’t be able to figure out why!
Multiple treatments of Sculptra, spaced four to six weeks apart, are often necessary. While some people respond to a single treatment, two or three is more typical. The number of treatments often depends on a patient’s age. For instance, someone in their 30s may only need one syringe, while a patient in their 50s may need two or three. The best way to determine if Sculptra is right for you is to schedule a consultation with an expert physician who specializes in this treatment.
At Bellava MedAesthetics & Plastic Surgery Center in Bedford Hills, NY, plastic surgeon Dr. James Lyons and expert injectable doctor Dr. Marc Epstein are both highly experienced in carrying out Sculptra procedures.
“One thing I prize most about Sculptra is that I can use it to address certain issues that other dermal fillers can’t accomplish quite as well,” said Dr. Lyons, who has been using Sculptra regularly since it came on the cosmetic market in 2009. “For instance, Sculptra is excellent for filling broader depressions such as sunken cheeks.”
Dr. Epstein added, “Sculptra allows me to bring the ultimate in artistry and skill to my profession so that I can meet my patients’ dreams and desires.”
